Description

These Air Fryer Brie Stuffed Dates with Honey & Walnuts are a delightful and easy appetizer combining the natural sweetness of Medjool dates with creamy brie cheese and crunchy walnuts. Perfect for holiday gatherings or anytime you want a quick, flavorful bite, these savory-sweet morsels are enhanced with a drizzle of honey, a sprinkle of flakey sea salt, and fresh herbs for an elegant finish.

Ingredients

Scale

Dates

  • 12 Natural Delights® Whole Medjool Dates

Filling

  • 4 oz brie cheese, cut into 12 small slices (about 1 tsp each)
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts

Garnishes

  • Honey, for drizzling
  • Flakey sea salt, for garnish
  • Chopped sage, or thyme, for garnish
  • OPTIONAL: crushed red pepper flakes, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 400 degrees F and allow it to fully preheat to ensure even cooking of the dates.
  2. Prepare the Dates: Split each Medjool date lengthwise and carefully remove the pit. This can be done easily by hand or with a sharp knife if preferred.
  3. Stuff the Dates: Place a slice of brie cheese into each pitted date. Gently press a few pieces of chopped walnuts into the brie, filling each date.
  4. Air Fry: Arrange the stuffed dates in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook them for 3 to 4 minutes until the brie softens and becomes gooey.
  5. Finish and Serve: Remove the dates from the air fryer. Lightly drizzle with honey, then sprinkle flakey sea salt, chopped sage or thyme, and red pepper flakes if using. Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • You can easily remove the pits by splitting the dates lengthwise with your hands or a sharp knife.
  • If you do not have an air fryer, bake the stuffed dates on a baking sheet at 375°F for 7-8 minutes for similar results.
  • Feel free to substitute brie with cream cheese or goat cheese as alternative creamy fillings.
  • Walnuts can be swapped with pecans, pistachios, or peanuts depending on preference.
  • Herbs like thyme, rosemary, or parsley can replace sage for a different herbal note.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days and reheat briefly in the air fryer to serve warm.
