Bread:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 apple, peeled & diced
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tsp milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare pan: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Prepare wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry: Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Layer the batter: Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Top with half of the diced apples and half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Repeat the layers.
- Bake: Bake for 50–55 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool and glaze: Allow the bread to cool in the pan, then drizzle with the glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
