Description

Bread:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 apple, peeled & diced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare pan: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Prepare wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry: Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Layer the batter: Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Top with half of the diced apples and half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Repeat the layers.
  6. Bake: Bake for 50–55 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool and glaze: Allow the bread to cool in the pan, then drizzle with the glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
