Description

These Blueberry & Coconut Gummies are a delicious and healthy treat for your furry friend. Made with only a few simple ingredients, they are easy to prepare and perfect for pampering your dog!

Ingredients

Scale

Blueberry Puree:

  • ½ cup pureed blueberries (fresh or frozen, blended until smooth)

Coconut Oil Mixture:

  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
  • (Optional) 1 tablespoon honey (for dogs without blood sugar issues)

Instructions

  1. Puree Blueberries: In a blender or food processor, blend the blueberries until you have a smooth puree. You can strain it through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the skins for an ultra-smooth texture, but it’s not necessary.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan, combine the blueberry puree, coconut oil, and optional honey. Warm the mixture over low heat, stirring until the coconut oil has just melted. Do not let it boil.
  3. Bloom Gelatin: Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over the warm liquid. Let it sit for one minute to “bloom,” which means it absorbs the liquid and becomes gelatinous.
  4. Whisk Smooth: After a minute, begin to whisk the mixture continuously over low heat for 2-3 minutes until the gelatin is fully dissolved and the mixture is completely smooth with no granules.
  5. Pour into Molds: Carefully pour or spoon the liquid into your silicone molds. Tap the mold gently on the counter to remove any air bubbles.
  6. Chill Until Set: Place the filled mold in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours, or until the gummies are completely firm to the touch.
  7. Pop Out and Serve: Once set, pop the gummies out of the mold. Serve one to your delighted pup and store the rest in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

  • Make sure the gummies are fully set before trying to remove them from the molds.
  • Adjust honey quantity based on your dog’s dietary needs.
