Description

Crispy and cheesy campfire pizza sandwiches made with English muffins, pizza sauce, and your favorite toppings, cooked to perfection in a skillet.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 English muffins or sturdy sandwich rolls
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices (or any toppings of choice)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil
  • Optional: sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers, olives

Instructions

  1. Split the English muffins or sandwich rolls and spread pizza sauce on the inside of each half.
  2. Layer with shredded mozzarella, Parmesan, pepperoni, and any optional toppings of your choice.
  3. Close the sandwich and lightly butter or brush the outside of each piece of bread.
  4. Heat a cast iron skillet or griddle over a campfire or stove. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and press down slightly.
  5. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy immediately by the campfire.

Notes

  • Use sturdy bread to prevent sogginess.
  • Customize with your favorite pizza toppings.
  • For a vegetarian version, skip the pepperoni and load up on veggies.
