Pizza Dough:
- 1 pound homemade pizza dough (454 g)
Additional Ingredients:
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- ¼ cup pizza sauce of choice
- 1 cup loosely packed shredded mozzarella cheese (100 g)
- Pepperoni slices, as needed
- Grated parmesan cheese, as needed
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 500℉.
- Prepare the Dough: Let the homemade pizza dough sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes.
- Prepare the Skillet: Spread olive oil in a 12-inch cast iron skillet. Place the room temperature dough in the oiled skillet. Gently push and pull the dough to fit the skillet.
- Assemble the Pizza: Spread pizza sauce on the dough, leaving a border. Sprinkle most of the mozzarella over the sauce. Add pepperoni slices, remaining mozzarella, and season as desired.
- Finish the Pizza: Sprinkle parmesan cheese over the exposed crust. Cook the pizza on the stovetop for 3-5 minutes, then transfer to the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes until the cheese melts.
- Serve: Let the pizza sit in the skillet for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
