For the Crust:

  • 2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs (about 24 Oreos, filling removed)
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 pinch salt

For the Filling:

  • 24 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest (about 2 oranges)
  • 1/4 cup orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2 teaspoons orange extract
  • 8 oz dark chocolate, melted and slightly cooled
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

For the Ganache:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon orange extract
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Prepare and bake crust. Mix cookie crumbs, butter, sugar, and salt. Press into pan and bake.
  2. Mix filling: Beat cream cheese and sugar. Add eggs, sour cream, vanilla, orange zest, orange juice, melted chocolate, and cocoa powder.
  3. Swirl batters, pour into crust, use water bath. Create marble effect, pour into crust, place in roasting pan, add hot water.
  4. Bake 60–70 minutes. Cool in oven 1 hour. Bake until set but slightly jiggly. Turn off oven, let cake cool inside.
  5. Chill 6 hours or overnight. Refrigerate to set.
  6. Make ganache, pour over chilled cheesecake. Heat cream, pour over chocolate, add orange extract and zest. Pour over cake.
  7. Garnish and serve chilled. Add whipped cream, orange peel, chocolate shavings, and extra orange zest to garnish.
