Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 brioche burger buns with sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon barbecue sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup romaine or butter lettuce
- 8 slices crispy bacon
- Butter or oil for toasting buns
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and garlic powder. Form into 4 equal patties.
- Preheat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 3–4 minutes on each side, adding a slice of cheese on each during the last minute of cooking.
- While burgers cook, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, barbecue sauce, smoked paprika, and a dash of garlic powder to make the special sauce.
- Toast the buns with a little butter in a skillet or on the grill until golden.
- Assemble the burgers: spread sauce on the bottom bun, add lettuce, onion slices, cheeseburger patty, 2 slices of bacon, more sauce, and top with the bun.
- Serve immediately while hot and melty.
Notes
- Use freshly ground beef for the juiciest patties.
- Try swapping cheddar for pepper jack for extra heat.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure doneness (160°F for ground beef).
- Double the sauce—it’s great for fries too!
