Description

The Crack Burger is a juicy, indulgent cheeseburger layered with crispy bacon, a smoky special sauce, melted cheddar, fresh lettuce, and red onion, all served on a toasted sesame brioche bun. It’s a bold, comfort food favorite packed with irresistible flavor.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 brioche burger buns with sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup romaine or butter lettuce
  • 8 slices crispy bacon
  • Butter or oil for toasting buns

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and garlic powder. Form into 4 equal patties.
  2. Preheat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 3–4 minutes on each side, adding a slice of cheese on each during the last minute of cooking.
  3. While burgers cook, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, barbecue sauce, smoked paprika, and a dash of garlic powder to make the special sauce.
  4. Toast the buns with a little butter in a skillet or on the grill until golden.
  5. Assemble the burgers: spread sauce on the bottom bun, add lettuce, onion slices, cheeseburger patty, 2 slices of bacon, more sauce, and top with the bun.
  6. Serve immediately while hot and melty.

Notes

  • Use freshly ground beef for the juiciest patties.
  • Try swapping cheddar for pepper jack for extra heat.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure doneness (160°F for ground beef).
  • Double the sauce—it’s great for fries too!
