Description

Ingredients

  • 4 slices sourdough or artisan bread
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 tbsp butter, softened
  • Optional: chopped cilantro or fresh basil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mash the avocado with lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and herbs if using. Mix until smooth with some texture remaining.
  2. Lay out the bread slices. Spread the avocado mixture evenly onto two slices.
  3. Top the avocado with cheese slices, then place the remaining bread on top to form sandwiches.
  4. Spread butter on the outer sides of each sandwich.
