Description

This no-bake layered dessert features soft tea biscuits soaked in creamy custard and topped with a generous sprinkle of almonds and pistachios—rich, nutty, and perfect for festive occasions or a quick indulgent sweet.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons custard powder (vanilla or any flavor)
  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 packet tea biscuits or Marie biscuits
  • 1/2 cup fresh cream (optional for richer flavor)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped almonds
  • 2 tablespoons chopped pistachios
  • 2 tablespoons crushed biscuits (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine custard powder with 1/4 cup milk to form a smooth paste.
  2. Add remaining milk and sugar to the pan and bring to a gentle boil. Stir continuously until thickened. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
  3. Mix in fresh cream and cardamom powder if using, and stir until smooth.
  4. In a serving dish, layer biscuits at the bottom.
  5. Pour a layer of warm custard over the biscuits and spread evenly.
  6. Repeat layers until ingredients are used up, finishing with a custard layer.
  7. Sprinkle with crushed biscuits, almonds, and pistachios on top.
  8. Chill for at least 4 hours or overnight for best texture and flavor. Serve cold.

Notes

  • Dip biscuits briefly in milk for a softer texture if desired.
  • Use flavored custard powder (like butterscotch or strawberry) for variation.
  • Top with saffron strands or rose petals for a festive touch.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
