Description

Tender shredded chicken slow-cooked in a creamy, cheesy blend and served on soft buns—these hearty sandwiches are perfect for cozy dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 46 brioche or hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the crock pot and pour in chicken broth. Sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until chicken is tender and shreds easily.
  3. Shred the chicken using two forks directly in the crock pot.
  4. Stir in the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and sour cream. Mix until melted and creamy.
  5. Cover and heat on low for an additional 20–30 minutes.
  6. Spoon the cheesy chicken mixture onto toasted buns. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Toast buns lightly for added texture.
  • Use pre-cooked shredded chicken to reduce cook time.
  • Top with pickles or sliced jalapeños for added flavor.
