Description

These Jalapeno Popper Twists are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that combines the flavors of spicy jalapenos, creamy cheese, and flaky puff pastry. Perfect for parties or as a snack!

Puff Pastry:

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed

Cheese Filling:

  • 225 g cream cheese, softened
  • 100 g shredded sharp cheddar cheese or Monterey Jack
  • 60 g sliced jalapenos, fresh or pickled
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Additional:

  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Dipping sauces as needed (such as ranch, sriracha mayo, or honey mustard)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Oven and Baking Sheet: Preheat oven to 200°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Cheese Filling: In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, sliced jalapenos, and garlic powder. Mix until smooth and fully incorporated.
  3. Shape Puff Pastry: Roll out thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of 6 mm. Cut into strips approximately 5 cm wide.
  4. Fill and Twist Pastry Strips: Place a generous spoonful of cheese filling onto one half of each pastry strip. Fold the pastry over to enclose the filling, then gently twist each strip to form a spiral.
  5. Apply Egg Wash: Arrange the twists on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with beaten egg to promote even browning.
  6. Bake Until Golden: Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes or until twists are puffed and golden brown.
  7. Serve with Dipping Sauces: Allow to cool slightly before serving. Present with your choice of dipping sauces.
