Description

These homemade Egg McMuffins are the ultimate breakfast sandwich — fluffy English muffins stacked with fried eggs, crispy bacon, savory sausage, golden hash browns, and melty cheese. A McDonald’s-inspired classic made fresher and heartier at home, perfect for a weekend brunch or meal prep.

Ingredients

Scale

English Muffins:

  • 4 English muffins, split and toasted

Eggs:

  • 4 large eggs

Cheese:

  • 4 slices American cheese (or cheddar)

Bacon:

  • 4 slices bacon, cooked crisp

Sausage Patties:

  • 4 sausage patties (store-bought or homemade)

Hash Browns:

  • 4 frozen hash brown patties

Other:

  • 2 tbsp butter or oil (for cooking eggs)
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the Bacon & Sausage: In a skillet, cook bacon until crisp. Set aside. Cook sausage patties until browned and cooked through.
  2. Prepare the Hash Browns: Bake or pan-fry hash brown patties according to package instructions until golden and crispy.
  3. Cook the Eggs: Heat butter or oil in a skillet. Crack eggs into egg rings (optional for round shape). Cook until whites are set, leaving yolks slightly runny or fully cooked to preference. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Assemble the Sandwiches: Toast English muffins. On each bottom half, layer sausage, egg, cheese, bacon, and a hash brown. Top with muffin lid.
  5. Serve: Serve hot with an extra crispy hash brown on the side.
