Description
This everything bagel grilled cheese sandwich upgrades the classic with a crunchy crust of bagel seasoning, gooey layers of cheddar and mozzarella, and optional bacon and scrambled egg for extra savory goodness. It’s the perfect mix of crispy, melty, and flavorful.

- 2 slices of thick sandwich bread (brioche or sourdough works great)
- 2 tbsp softened butter
- 1 tbsp everything bagel seasoning
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 slices crispy cooked bacon (optional)
- 1 egg, scrambled (optional for extra protein)
Instructions
- Spread butter evenly on one side of each bread slice. Press the buttered side into everything bagel seasoning to coat.
- Place one slice, seasoning side down, in a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat.
- Layer on half the cheddar, half the mozzarella, scrambled egg (if using), crispy bacon, then top with the remaining cheese.
- Place the second slice of bread on top, seasoning side up.
- Grill for 3–4 minutes on each side, pressing gently, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
- Remove from pan, slice, and serve hot!
Notes
- Use a mix of cheeses like gouda or provolone for added depth of flavor.
- For a vegetarian version, skip the bacon and add sliced tomato or avocado.
- Everything bagel seasoning can be found premade or made with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, garlic, onion, and salt.
