Ingredients
Scale
Pasta
- 12 oz linguine
Steak and Seasoning
- 1 lb sirloin steak
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Sauce
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup Parmesan, grated
Instructions
- Cook linguine: Boil the linguine in a large pot of salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set it aside, reserving a little pasta water if needed later.
- Sear steak: Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the sirloin steak generously with salt and black pepper. Place the steak in the hot skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side to achieve medium-rare doneness. Remove the steak to a cutting board, allow it to rest for a few minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.
- Sauté garlic: In the same skillet used for the steak, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for approximately 1 minute, just until fragrant and lightly golden, being careful not to burn it.
- Make sauce: Stir in the heavy cream, grated Parmesan, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Let the sauce simmer gently for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly and blends into a creamy consistency.
- Toss noodles: Add the cooked linguine to the skillet with the sauce. Toss well to coat the noodles evenly in the rich Parmesan cream sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen it.
- Serve: Plate the coated noodles and top with the sliced steak. Serve immediately while warm for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- For extra freshness and flavor, sprinkle freshly chopped parsley or basil on top just before serving.
- You can swap linguine for other pasta shapes like fettuccine or spaghetti based on your preference.
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to suit your spice tolerance—use less for mild heat or more for a spicier kick.
