Description

Crispy golden garlic bread slathered with herbed butter, paired with a thick and hearty spaghetti meat sauce made with ground beef and rich tomato flavors—perfect for dipping or serving over pasta.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • For the Garlic Bread:
  • 1 large loaf French bread, halved
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • For the Spaghetti Meat Sauce:
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked spaghetti noodles (optional for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a bowl, mix softened butter with garlic powder, oregano, parsley, salt, and Parmesan if using.
  2. Spread butter mixture evenly over both halves of the French bread. Place on a sheet pan and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and crispy. Slice and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté chopped onion until translucent, then add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  5. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer uncovered for 20–25 minutes until thickened.
  6. Serve the meat sauce as a dip with garlic bread or ladle over cooked spaghetti noodles for a full meal.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic in the butter for a more intense flavor.
  • Make the sauce in advance—it stores well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Swap beef with turkey or plant-based meat for a lighter option.
  • Top garlic bread with mozzarella and broil for a cheesy variation.
