Description

Crispy, creamy, and spicy, this hot honey fried paneer sandwich is a delightful treat that will leave you wondering why you hadn’t tried it sooner. The combination of crispy paneer coated in a hot honey sauce, sandwiched between slices of buttery toasted bread with fresh veggies, is a flavor explosion you won’t want to miss.

Ingredients

Scale

Breaded Paneer:

  • 2 thick slices paneer (1 per sandwich)
  • Wet Mix: 1/4 cup all-purpose flour + 1/4 cup cornflour + onion powder + garlic powder + chili powder + salt + pepper + water
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying

Hot Honey Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup red chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp chili oil
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp honey

Assembly:

  • Bread
  • Mayonnaise
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato slices
  • Cucumber slices
  • Pickled jalapeños
  • Spicy fried paneer

Instructions

  1. Slice your paneer into even pieces. Make the wet mix by combining flour, cornstarch, spices, and water in a bowl until thick enough to coat the paneer.
  2. Dip each paneer slice into the wet mix and coat with breadcrumbs.
  3. Fry the paneer in hot oil until golden and crispy on both sides.
  4. Prepare the hot honey sauce by mixing red chili sauce, chili oil, ketchup, and honey. Toss the fried paneer in the sauce until coated.
  5. Toast bread with butter until crispy.
  6. Assemble the sandwich by spreading mayo on both slices, layering with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, pickled jalapeños, the paneer, and closing the sandwich.
  7. Slice in half and enjoy!
