Description

Hot Smoked Gouda Bacon Dip is a creamy, cheesy, and smoky appetizer perfect for game days, parties, or any gathering. This indulgent dip combines crispy bacon, smoked Gouda, sharp cheddar, and a blend of spices. Baked until bubbly and golden, it’s a crowd-pleaser served hot with crackers, bread, or fresh veggies for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

Dip Ingredients

  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 ½ cups shredded smoked Gouda cheese
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 green onions, finely sliced
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

For Serving

  • Optional garnish: extra green onions or crumbled bacon
  • Crackers, baguette slices, or fresh vegetables

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the dip.
  2. Mix the Dip Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream. Stir until the mixture is smooth and creamy, creating the base of the dip.
  3. Add Flavors: Add shredded smoked Gouda, sharp cheddar cheese, garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, finely sliced green onions, and most of the crumbled bacon (reserving some for topping). Mix everything until evenly combined and well incorporated.
  4. Assemble the Dip: Transfer the cheese and bacon mixture into an oven-safe dish like a pie or small casserole dish. Spread the mixture evenly in the dish for uniform baking.
  5. Top and Bake: Sprinkle the reserved crumbled bacon over the top of the dip. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes until the dip is bubbly, hot, and lightly golden on top.
  6. Serve: Remove from the oven and let the dip cool slightly. Garnish with extra green onions or crumbled bacon if desired. Serve hot with crackers, baguette slices, or fresh vegetables for dipping.

Notes

  • Cheese Variations: Substitute smoked Gouda with Gruyère, Havarti, or smoked mozzarella if unavailable.
  • Spice It Up: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or diced jalapeños for a spicy kick.
  • Make Ahead: Prepare the dip up to 1 day in advance and refrigerate. Bake just before serving for best results.
