Description

A refreshing, creamy iced matcha latte served with crunchy honeycomb toffee pieces on top. This elevated twist on the classic green tea drink brings together earthy matcha, sweet vanilla milk, and airy, golden honeycomb for a treat that’s both indulgent and energizing.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • For the Matcha Latte:
  • 1 tsp matcha green tea powder
  • 2 tbsp hot water
  • 3/4 cup milk of choice (almond, oat, or dairy)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 tsp maple syrup or sweetener of choice
  • Ice cubes
  • For the Honeycomb Toffee (optional topping):
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey or golden syrup
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Instructions

  1. Honeycomb Toffee:
Line a tray with parchment paper.
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt sugar and honey together until it reaches a golden amber color.
Remove from heat and immediately whisk in baking soda—mixture will foam rapidly.
Quickly pour onto the prepared tray and let cool completely before breaking into chunks.
  2. Matcha Latte:
In a small bowl, whisk matcha with hot water until smooth and frothy.
In a glass, combine milk, vanilla, and maple syrup. Add ice.
Pour in the matcha mixture and stir gently.
Top with honeycomb toffee pieces just before serving.

Notes

  • The honeycomb toffee can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week, making it a great topping for other drinks or desserts.
  • If you prefer a dairy-free version, use plant-based milk such as almond or oat milk.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup or sweetener to taste.
