Description

Crispy golden kadaif nests filled with smooth whipped cream and topped with crunchy nuts and a drizzle of caramel—this Middle Eastern-inspired dessert offers the perfect contrast of textures in every bite.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 200g kadaif (shredded phyllo dough)
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, for light sweetness)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons chopped toasted nuts (pistachios, walnuts, or hazelnuts)
  • Caramel sauce or honey drizzle

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Gently separate kadaif strands and mix with melted butter and optional sugar until evenly coated.
  3. Press small amounts of kadaif into greased muffin tins to form nest shapes.
  4. Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden and crispy. Let cool completely before removing.
  5. In a chilled bowl, whip cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  6. Fill the cooled kadaif cups with whipped cream using a piping bag.
  7. Garnish with chopped nuts and a light drizzle of caramel or honey.
  8. Serve immediately or chill for 30 minutes for a cool, refreshing bite.

Notes

  • Ensure kadaif is fully crispy before removing from muffin tins to avoid sogginess.
  • Use a variety of nuts for an extra crunch and texture contrast.
  • If not serving immediately, store the whipped cream separately and fill kadaif cups just before serving.
  • For a more indulgent touch, top with extra caramel drizzle or a dusting of powdered sugar.
