Description

This refreshing mango trifle combines sweet mango chunks, creamy whipped layers, and a homemade mango jelly base—light, fruity, and perfect for summer entertaining or a tropical dessert fix.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 100g mango (fresh or frozen)
  • 35g sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon agar agar powder
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ripe mango, diced
  • 1/2 cup sponge cake or pound cake, cubed
  • Additional fruits (like strawberries or peaches), optional

Instructions

  1. Make the Mango Jelly: Blend the mango with water until smooth. Pour into a pan and add sugar and agar agar. Heat on low while stirring continuously for 3–4 minutes. Pour into a dish and let it set in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Cream: Whip the cream with sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Keep chilled.
  3. Assemble the Trifle: In a glass bowl or cup, layer cubes of sponge cake, followed by mango jelly cubes, a spoonful of whipped cream, and diced mango. Repeat layers if using a larger bowl.
  4. Top with more whipped cream and assorted fresh fruits if desired. Serve chilled.

Notes

  • Use ripe, sweet mangoes for maximum flavor.
  • Agar agar sets quickly—work swiftly after heating.
  • Chill all components before layering for a cleaner presentation.
  • Customize with fruits like lychee, kiwi, or berries.
