Description

These matcha green tea muffins are fluffy, subtly sweet, and naturally green thanks to premium matcha powder. A perfect blend of wellness and indulgence, they make a great breakfast or midday treat for matcha enthusiasts.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp high-quality matcha green tea powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk (or almond milk)
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt or sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, matcha powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs with sugar until light. Mix in milk, oil, yogurt, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir just until combined—do not overmix.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full.
  6. Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cool on a wire rack before serving. Dust with extra matcha for a bold finish if desired.

Notes

  • Use high-quality matcha powder for best color and flavor.
  • Substitute dairy-free milk and yogurt to make these muffins fully dairy-free.
  • Add white chocolate chips or nuts for a unique twist.
