Filling and Topping:
- 1/2 cup Nutella (or other chocolate hazelnut spread)
- 1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
Instructions
- Activate Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Mix Dough: In a large bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Add yeast mixture, warm water, oil, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead Dough: Knead dough on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat & Shape: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Roll dough into a large circle. Cut into 8 triangles like a pizza.
- Fill & Bake: Place a teaspoon of Nutella on the wide end of each triangle and roll up toward the point to form a croissant shape. Arrange on baking tray. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown.
