- 2 cups pancake mix
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 lb chicken sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together pancake mix, milk, egg, vanilla extract, and maple syrup until smooth.
- Pour half the batter into the prepared dish and spread evenly.
- Layer with half of the crumbled sausage and half the cheddar cheese.
- Pour the remaining batter on top, then add the rest of the sausage and cheese.
- Drizzle melted butter over the top.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool slightly, then slice and serve with extra maple syrup if desired.
Notes
- Use fully cooked chicken sausage for best results.
- Swap in turkey or pork sausage if preferred.
- Can be prepped the night before and baked in the morning.
