Description

Sweet and crunchy no-bake bars made with caramelized brown sugar, pecans, and crispy cereal—an easy treat to beat the summer heat.


Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup corn syrup or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups crisp rice cereal
  • 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar, syrup, and salt.
  2. Stir constantly until mixture comes to a low boil; simmer 2 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla, cereal, and pecans.
  4. Press mixture into a parchment-lined 8×8 pan.
  5. Cool completely, then slice into bars.
