Description

These 5-Ingredient Sesame Green Beans are a simple and flavorful side dish that is ready in just 10 minutes. Tender green beans are stir-fried with aromatic garlic, toasted sesame oil, soy sauce, and sesame seeds, creating a dish that is both vibrant and delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

Green Beans:

  • 1 lb (450 g) fresh green beans, ends trimmed

Seasonings:

  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare Green Beans: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a splash of water and the green beans. Cover and steam for 3–4 minutes until bright and slightly tender.
  2. Sauté Garlic: Uncover and let excess water evaporate. Push beans to one side. Add sesame oil to the empty space, then add garlic. Stir for about 20 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Toss green beans with the garlic and oil until coated. Pour in soy sauce and stir well. Cook 2–3 minutes, stirring often, until tender-crisp and glossy.
  4. Finish and Serve: Remove from heat, sprinkle with sesame seeds, toss once more, and serve immediately.
