Ingredients

Units Scale

Pork:

  • 1 lb boneless pork shoulder or tenderloin, cut into bite-sized cubes

Seasoning:

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

Additional:

  • 2 fresh jalapeños, sliced (adjust for spice)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Coat Pork: In a bowl, toss the pork cubes with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  2. Sear Pork: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the pork cubes until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: In the same skillet, add garlic and ginger and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Make Sauce: Stir in soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Cook Pork: Return pork to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Let simmer for 10–12 minutes, or until the pork is cooked through and sauce thickens.
  6. Add Jalapeños: Add sliced jalapeños and cook for another 2–3 minutes.
  7. Finish and Serve: Top with sesame seeds, green onions, and fresh cilantro before serving. Serve hot over rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables.
