Description

Turkey breakfast sausage patties are made with ground turkey and a homemade spice mix, pan-fried until perfectly golden brown and crisp on the outside. These juicy turkey patties are more delicious than any store-bought breakfast sausage.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Ground Turkey Sausage:

  • 1 lb dark ground turkey
  • 1 tsp ground sage or 2 tsp rubbed sage
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp ground paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

For Frying:

  • 12 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil

Optional:

  • 1 tsp all-purpose seasoning (no salt, optional)
  • 1/4 tsp fennel seed (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat Skillet: Heat a large cast-iron skillet on medium-high heat with olive oil.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a bowl, combine ground turkey, seasonings, and salt until well mixed.
  3. Form Patties: Divide the mixture into 5-6 balls, flatten into patties.
  4. Cook Patties: Cook patties in the skillet for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. Serve: Transfer patties to a serving platter and enjoy hot.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze for several weeks.
  • Reheat patties in the oven at 375°F for 10 minutes until warmed through.
  • Use gloves and oil to prevent sticking and ensure uniform patties.
