Description

These Valentine’s Day Caramel Pretzel Bites are a delightful and festive treat combining salty pretzels, gooey caramel chocolate, and colorful Valentine’s-themed candies and sprinkles. Perfect for parties, holiday gifting, or a sweet snack, these bite-sized goodies are easy to make with only a few ingredients and minimal baking time.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 60 Pretzel Snaps (square-shaped pretzels)
  • 60 Rolo candies (unwrapped)
  • Valentine’s Mix M&M’s (pink, red, and white)
  • Heart-shaped or Valentine’s Day colored sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Heat the oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper, a silpat liner, or tin foil to prepare for baking.
  2. Arrange Pretzels and Rolo Candies: Lay all the pretzel snaps flat on the prepared cookie sheet. Place one unwrapped Rolo candy on the center of each pretzel square, ensuring even spacing.
  3. Bake: Bake the pretzels with Rolo candies for 4-5 minutes. The goal is to soften the chocolate just enough that it looks glossy, but the Rolo candies should retain their shape and not melt completely.
  4. Add M&M’s and Sprinkles: Immediately after removing from the oven, press one Valentine’s Mix M&M gently onto the top of each warm Rolo candy. Then sprinkle each pretzel bite with heart-shaped or Valentine’s Day colored sprinkles. It helps to work row by row for better control and even distribution.
  5. Cool: Let the caramel pretzel bites cool at room temperature for about 2 hours, allowing the chocolate to firm up again. To speed up this process, you can place the cookie sheet in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.
  6. Store: Once cooled, store any leftovers covered at room temperature to maintain freshness and texture.

Notes

  • Use square-shaped pretzels (pretzel snaps) for the perfect base and topping placement.
  • Work quickly when adding M&M’s and sprinkles as the chocolate hardens fast.
  • For faster cooling, refrigeration is recommended but avoid long-term refrigeration to keep pretzels crisp.
  • These bites make excellent festive gifts or party snacks.
  • Be sure to store in a cool, dry place to prevent the chocolate from melting or becoming sticky.
