- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Prepare the patties: In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
- Shape the patties: Form the mixture into 6–8 oval-shaped patties and let rest.
- Brown the patties: In an oven-safe skillet over medium heat, brown each patty for about 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Prepare the gravy: Remove patties and set aside; in the same skillet, melt butter and sauté sliced onions until softened. Stir in flour; cook for about 2 minutes before whisking in beef broth and heavy cream until smooth.
- Combine and bake: Return patties to skillet, nestling them in the gravy. Cover tightly and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
