  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 15 oz kidney beans, drained
  • 15 oz black beans, drained
  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 14 oz diced tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 0.5 tsp oregano
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional)

For Toppings:

  • Shredded cheese
  • Sour cream
  • Green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef: In a skillet, brown the ground beef with onions and garlic; drain excess fat.
  2. Transfer to slow cooker: Place the beef mixture in the slow cooker.
  3. Add ingredients: Add beans, crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, broth, and all spices.
  4. Combine: Stir well to combine all ingredients.
  5. Cook: Cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
