For the Meat Sauce:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 white onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning

For the Cheese Mixture:

  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Other:

  • 12 lasagna noodles

Instructions

  1. Brown the beef: In a large skillet, brown the beef with onion and garlic.
  2. Add sauce: Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Prepare cheese mixture: In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, and half the parmesan.
  4. Cook noodles: Cook noodles al dente and drain.
  5. Layer: In a 9×13 dish, layer sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers, ending with meat sauce and mozzarella.
  6. Bake: Cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 20 minutes until bubbly.
