Description

This Easy Sushi Bake recipe offers a deconstructed twist on traditional sushi, perfect for gatherings or easy weeknight dinners. Creamy, spicy, and packed with seafood flavors, it’s sure to be a hit!


Ingredients

Sushi Rice:

  • 2 cups dry Calrose Sushi Rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup seasoned rice vinegar (Marukan)

Crab Mixture:

  • 16 oz imitation crab, chopped
  • 10 cooked tempura shrimp, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Japanese mayonnaise
  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 Tbsp sriracha

Additional Toppings:

  • 3 Tbsp furikake
  • 1/2 cup Spicy mayo
  • 12 Tbsp Furikake
  • 1/4 cup Unagi

Instructions

  1. Prepare Sushi Rice: Rinse sushi rice, cook in a rice cooker, then fold in seasoned rice vinegar.
  2. Make Crab Mixture: Combine crab, shrimp, mayonnaise, cream cheese, and sriracha in a bowl.
  3. Assemble Bake: Spread and compress rice in a baking sheet, sprinkle furikake, top with crab mixture, and broil.
  4. Finish and Serve: Drizzle spicy mayo, Unagi, and garnish with cucumber, furikake, and green onion.

Notes

  • This recipe can be customized with additional toppings like avocado, tobiko, or sesame seeds.
  • Adjust the level of spiciness by controlling the amount of sriracha and spicy mayo used.
