Description

This quick and easy homemade strawberry lemonade recipe strikes the perfect balance between sweet strawberries and tart lemons, making it the ultimate refreshing drink for the summer.

Ingredients

Scale

Strawberry Lemonade:

  • 1 cup strawberries, washed
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup vodka
  • 1 cup lemon juice (About 45 lemons)
  • 1.5 cups sparkling water
  • 1 lemon, sliced for garnish
  • 1 bunch of mint

Instructions

  1. Wash, stem and slice strawberries. Reserve a few for garnish.
  2. Add water and sugar to a saucepan. Bring to a simmer while stirring occasionally until sugar is completely dissolved.
  3. Add berries, then simmer a few more minutes.
  4. Blend berry and sugar mixture until smooth. Allow to cool.
  5. Pour into a pitcher, then add the vodka. For non-alcoholic, skip the vodka.
  6. Add lemon juice and stir.
  7. Add sparkling water before serving. If pre-making, add just before serving to retain fizz.
  8. Serve on ice and enjoy!

Notes

  • This recipe is even better the second day. If pre-making, cover tightly and refrigerate. Add the fizzy drink just before serving to keep it fresh.
  • You can swap lemonade or lemon juice for fresh lemon juice for a better taste.
  • Frozen strawberries can be used.
  • Using lemon-lime soda instead of sparkling water will make it sweeter.
  • If you prefer a stronger cocktail, increase the vodka to 1 1/4 cups.
  • Raspberries or blackberries can be used, but you may need to strain the mixture before serving.
